Gossip from the Typing Pool
Panty was kind enough to contribute this picture of an example of one of the girls from petticoated.com's typing pool. It is, I am afraid, somewhat fanciful - the girls wear much more sensible footwear, fuller skirts rather than the style illustrated here, and, of course, no gloves. The outlandish gloves illustrated here would be quite unsuitable for good typing. Nevertheless the picture gives some idea of the superb secretarial efficiency of Marcia, Julie Anne, Pansy Frills, Angela, and the others.

They have continued their work while I have been absent due to overtiredness, although there has still been a good deal of light-hearted gossip and banter around the tea urn, and I notice now that I am back in the office that the biscuit jar is in urgent need of replenishing. But I will soon get the office restocked and running smoothly again.

My heartfelt thanks to all the girls for carrying on while I have been away  - why a film called 'Carry On Typist' was never a part of that very naughty series of British cinema comedies I don't know. If it had been filmed in the offices of petticoated.com it would have been an outstanding success!
