Reflections on Petticoating
An Introduction
by Julia

Julia has proposed an occasional series in which readers reflect on the experience and effectiveness of petticoat discipline at various ages, with input from lady readers. Its success depends upon reader contribution, so it is up to you. So please tie on your prettiest working pinnies and get started. I here publish Julia's Introduction, and invite readers to make their own contributions to this series.

It is hoped that a series of articles might be published that would include considerable readership involvement. These articles would be published on a periodic basis, with perhaps a two month interval between each presentation. The idea would be to allow the readers to respond in a timely basis, and allow for their inputs to be incorporated in subsequent discussions.

Petticoat Discipline is a 'time honored' technique designed to bring about a favorable change in the behavior of males of all ages who have displayed a tendency of having strayed off the beaten path, and who consequently are in need of correction. This correction is brought about, by encouraging the development of their inherent feminine characteristics.

This is accomplished by a systematic program of dressing the male individuals in the clothing normally considered appropriate for females. There have been many different approaches as to how this should be implemented. This extends from young boys to teenagers, and even to the spouses of married couples. Various approaches will be further explored in appropriate detail.

Even though this technique has been in vogue for many years, there is still much to learn as to why it works so well, and just how
it is perceived by the recipients of such training.

Accordingly, it is hope that an ongoing discussion between those involved, both the perpetrators as well as those who have benefited from this treatment, can be brought about.

As said, a series of articles are planned, which will follow the following schedule of presentation:

A.  A brief history of petticoating.
B.  A mother’s response.
C.  Perceptions by a sister or close relative.
D.  Perceptions by a recipient, who was so treated at an age of twelve or less.
E.  Perceptions by a recipient, who was so treated at an age of thirteen or more.
F.  Lessons learned.

The readers of 'Petticoat Discipline Monthly' are encouraged to review their involvement in this fascinating art of correction, and be prepared to offer their views. Responses can or will be kept confidential if so desired.

With regard to Part A, in the first issue of this magazine I attempted to write a brief history of petticoating, as well as linking to another history that I found on the net. These are linked to below:

The best detailed history of petticoating is found in the series of books by Peter Farrer, which are available from his site:

Correspondence from readers is now invited regarding any of the headings listed by Julia. I am confident that if we receive a good response, we can all learn a great deal about this perennially enthralling subject.
