Mary Beth & Jacqueline's Pretty Patterns
Number Five

Aren't these two patterns precious? The baby dress would take quite a bit of work though, with all that lace insertion and embroidery, but I an sure your little darling would look absolutely sweet in it.

I am rather taken with the frou-frou petticoat, which seems to have a tartan pattern [!] But the little girls' full slip is just too sweet for wards, with all those ribbons and bows, and the beautiful ribbon insert shoulder straps. Wouldn't your hesrt race if Mummy gave you one of these for Christmas?

Another McCalls pattern, and a rather unseasonable one, at least for those north of the Line. It is from the 1950s, and Mary Beth and Jacqueline were very taken by the bloomer swimming costume - shades of the Edwardian era! It just shows that bloomers can be worn on all occasions.
