Just imagine what it would feel like to fall asleep in a chair, and wake only to discover that you had been tied in by your little sister's skipping rope!
Welcome to the first issue of 'Petticoat Discipline Quarterly'. The title was a light-hearted suggestion of my dear friends Mary Beth and John, and, after some consideration, I did realise that it would solve the problems of tiredness, lack of time, and sometimes lack of material. It is a pity that a Christmas Annual could not be prepared, but I have certainly included a festive recipe page from Dennis, and three stories.
I now have a new computer with much more space, and a working scanner. A 2003 Christmas Annual should be no problem. The Games and Puzzles section has proved to be very popular in the past, so creative contributors should keep this in mind in the eleven months ahead.
With the coming of the new year I would like to welcome two new members of staff. Dennis will take over as human resources manager, and Tara joins us as the petticoated.com information technology officer. I was not sure what this job meant, but Tara assures me that she will simply be attending to any computer malfunctions here at the works. At present I am functioning in a purely advisory capacity, and Marcia is cracking the whip in Grimsby, with Julie Anne now production manager.
Remember, we are a correspondence magazine, if you have any petticoating or babying experiences you would like to tell readers about. Moreover, I always need petticoat discipline letters from the past, in order to bring readers the very best of petticoating correspondence. If you can find the time to retype a letter from the past and e-mail it to me, I would be very grateful. It is of inestimable help to the magazine.

I may have missed some birthdays...if so, please write again. I am setting up a birthday reference page so that I will have recorded all the birthdays that I receive. If you would like to write to 'Petticoat Discipline Monthly' (which remains the publication's name in our corporate papers) and tell me your birthday, I will make sure that it is on the cover of the appropriate issue.
As always, the staff and I wish you a very happy birthday, and a wonderful new year to all readers.
