Advice from Nanny Susan

Well, what a christening! I have received so many letters of joy and support, and in the first three days the site scored more than 1800 hits. Large numbers of hits are not important, nor expected, since this is not a site with broad appeal. Nevertheless, it is very encouraging. The really important thing is that those who find fulfilment and security in the soft, relaxing embrace of petticoats and baby clothes are able to find this site.

I think our site has a great future. And yes, it is OUR site: I cannot do it without contributions of your own experiences, or some 'petticoating' letters from the past. Here I would like to extend my thanks to Jeremy, to Barry, to Derry, to Andre and to Helena, who have set the ball rolling by kindly offering contributions of old letters. And of course to the readers who have written new letters concerning their experiences with petticoat discipline. I should add that Petticoat Discipline Monthly is concerned with letters, rather than fiction or serialised accounts, as there are plenty of these elsewhere.

This issue has been held back because the January issue was only published on January the 18th, and so I wanted to have it up for three weeks at least. The March issue will be published on March the 1st or 2nd, and I will keep to that pattern from now on. I apologise to any readers who have been inconvenienced.

I have rearranged the site a little by putting the Table of Contents just under the title. The front page is not quite as attractive as before, but it does mean that readers do not have to scroll down whenever they return to the main page after reading a letter or article. For that reason, I think it is an improvement.

We have two e-mail addresses. For letter contributions and general correspondence, please write to:

susan@petticoated.com

And if you are writing to our advice column, please write to:

It will not be my policy to include large numbers of links in Petticoat Discipline Monthly. However, when I do find a place that makes good quality little girl and baby clothes in large sizes, I will certainly tell you about it, because I want doting mummies to know where they can obtain the softest and prettiest clothes, so that their little lambs will feel as girly and babyish as possible.

However, I should say that I am not personally associated with any of these sites. You need to deal with them directly; however I have heard from others that they are reputable.

The first place I want to mention is 'Girltalk'. Most of you probably know it – it is Debbie Sanderson's site, and you can rest assured that Debbie knows all about sissy little girls and big babies like you. In fact 'Girltalk' was just about the first little girl and baby site on the web. The URL is:

http://www.girltalk.co.uk/welcome.htm

You need to write to Debbie and describe what is required. It will be made to your design, and Debbie even has a page of
useful hints regarding making sure the clothes have the right look. 'Girltalk' mainly makes dresses, but can also supply pinafores, bibs, and bonnets. I can assure you that they are extremely well made, with thorough needlework, and that she has a very high reputation for her little girl and baby frocks.

Well enough chatter, I am sure you are all looking forward to reading this month's letters, so I will finish for now.

Miss Susan MacDonald.

In the March issue: a special baby reins (harness) edition, including a link to a site that makes absolutely authentic baby reins in pink or blue leather, with very babyish prints on the front panel, and bells if you would like them. There will also be a feature page, 'Petticoating in Australia', which I am sure will be of great interest to all readers.
