The pre war English magazine
'London Life' really understood the inestimable advantages and pleasures
of keeping boys to the regular wearing of corsets, dresses, tights or stockings,
and pretty lace petticoats and other frilled and feminine underwear. The
sketch is very characteristic of the illustrations that 'London Life' featured,
and the boy does look rather sorry for himself, which he shouldn't - I
think that he looks quite charming, and it is a great pity that today's
mothers do not follow the example, both in their own dress and that of
their sons, of the two beautiful young women in this picture.
