'What nonsense to suggest, as your women's page did last week,
that the use of a dummy is either unhygienic or a bad habit which could
become hard for a baby to break. I have derived great comfort from my dummy
for over 40 years, and find it gives much greater oral satisfaction than
the unhealthy cigarette. It is also much cheaper'.

DUMMY DISCIPLINE POSTERS
By Christeen - new!
Now, here is something really special!
You all love Christeen's posters with all those ruffles and ribbons, don't
you? Well, Christeen
has now turned her special magic
towards the fluffy humiliations of nursery discipline - and I think readers
will agree that, as usual, she
has succeeded brilliantly...
By Mary Beth Sanford
- new!
...And there is another cuddly, bunny-soft
treat for all my beautiful babies. Mary Beth Sanford, who has created some
of the best nursery discipline sites on the internet, has sent me five
posters, of which I present the first two. Others will follow in the next
three issues. Mary Beth's site is at:http://www.marybethsanford.com.
Readers should note that the site is still under construction.

Christmas
Readers are welcomed to the second
issue of our annual lift-out special, 'Dummy Discipline Digest'. As well
as a good crop of letters, there are some other features which readers
will love. 'Crying for Mummy' is a brilliantly flowing impressionistic
essay, written in a state of dummy discipline ecstasy, by 'Baby David',
who was a regular correspondent of 'Madame' magazine. For readers who wish
to try and explain to their Beloved the overwhelming and all-conquering
rapture of baby discipline, I recommend David's essay, and my own dissertation,
'The Bliss of Nappies', which was published in
'Dummy Discipline Digest' last year.
An extraordinary bonus this year
is the presentation of two of Christeen's posters, and two equally frilly
posters from Mary Beth Sanford. These are well up to the very high standard
that these two have established, and readers will adore them. Saffy has
also contributed, with a story, and some notes regarding a suite of music
with baby interest...'Adventures in a Perambulator'.
Oh! One more thing...Sophie has
come up with the a solution to the problem of what you should do with your
silly little baby whilst you enjoy the office party, and to make sure he
isn't bothered with having to go to his own office party, with all its
naughty temptations. Sophie writes, 'I do think the current trend in office
parties at this time of year is getting out of hand'. I could not agree
more, and will be showing your letter to my own office staff.
So happy reading, and a soft and precious
Christmas to all.
